Life is made up of moments. Isn’t it funny how the smallest ones can have the biggest impact? When I photograph events, I don’t just train my camera on the flowers and take a few pictures of the cake. Don’t worry, I’ll document those too — but I view my role a little differently from the way that most event photographers see it.
As a Family Legacy Curator, I intentionally curate images that tell the entire story of a day. From the expression on a new graduate's face to the gift that made the mother-to-be burst into tears, no detail escapes my lens. Because in the end, it’s these little details that make up the big, beautiful picture of our lives.
By the time your special day arrives, you and your family deserve to relax and take it all in — without having to worry about snapping photographs, and wrangling guests to pose for them.
I take pride in making my clients feel like their event is in safe hands, being documented and preserved even as the moments fly past. (And the best ones always do.) I capture the small details that make up a big day, and pay close attention to your special requests.
But most of all, I bring my storytellers’ heart to each event I document. I view each gathering — large or small, casual or formal — as a valuable part of your family’s story.
“Lesly’s warm and bubbly personality put us at ease on the day of our actual photo session and made us feel comfortable and happy in front of the camera. We were pleasantly surprised when we got our previews and then our complete gallery much earlier than anticipated. And the photos...truly gorgeous, so much more beautiful than we ever dreamed of getting. We are just so happy with the whole experience and, especially, the beautiful photos we will cherish for a lifetime.”
“Getting to know Lesly while she took our photos was fantastic. She took the time to get to know us while sharing her own story. Our families have absolutely loved seeing the photos that Lesly took.”
“Lesly's warm and positive energy along with an eye and talent for photography was simply the best. She captured priceless moments that showed raw emotion in just a picture, a true art form.”
After all that goes into planning an event — creating a menu, making up the guest list, and chasing those RSVPs — documentation can become an afterthought. I may be biased, but hear me when I say this: Documentation is not the least important part of an event…It's the most!
Special memories are meant to be shared and savored. If you invest in lovingly preserving them, you can turn your memories into a living family heirloom. There’s no better way to ensure your event’s lasting impact than by partnering with a professional photographer and videographer who will thoughtfully document every detail of your special day, in a medium that never fades.
I serve clients across the DC metro area as well as in Maryland and Northern Virginia. If you’re not sure or have a location in mind outside of these areas, let me know when you inquire!

When you’re looking back on your life, you’ll want photos and videos to remember your moments by. Grandparents sharing their childhood experiences with their sons and daughters. Cousins creating mischief and forming core memories. Long-time friends lounging around a table after a much-enjoyed meal and reconnecting over drinks. Interviews allow us to convey not only how the day looked and felt, but also what was said and by who.
